Location:
Lost Forty is about .5 miles north of Joe and Mary's
Sink. Follow the power lines north and take one of the roads going into
the woods to the right.
Description:
The sink has a large collection of newspaper racks
and household appliance that the yokels apparently like to dump. The cave
access is on the north side of the lake and is behind a large rock against
the side of the pond at a depth of 20 feet. The visibility is often 15-20
feet with the maximum depth approximately 160 feet. There isn't much going
cave passage since local erosion and runoff has started to fill in the
cave. This place has one of the most active albino crayfish populations
that I have seen yet. The sink/pond is also neat dive site, but be careful
of the broken glass in and out of the water.
