Salt Spring:
Salt Spring is 2.5 miles northeast of Port Richey,
near the Gulfview Square Mall. The spring flows from an irregular hole
too small to pass through with tanks near the east side of the pool. A
4x4 with strong springs and a tow chain is the ticket here as the ruts
can be large and deep.
Description:
The run itself is shallow with several natural bridges.
There is supposed to be barely enough of an opening to no-mount an Al80,
but I have yet been to dive the site. Salt Spring is near Gulfview Square
Mall (near Cauldron Cave). I have heard that it can go past 200 feet with
the entrance being extremely tight. The previously open access to this cave has
been blocked by SWFWMD due to property damage (trash) and liability concerns.
