Beacon Woods

The cave system is located primarily under the property of the Beacon Woods subdivision in Hudson (near corner of Hwy 19 and Hwy 52).

The cave system has a normal visibility of 10-15 feet and has numerous haloclines, hydrogen sulfide layers, and clouds of bacteria lining the walls. The average depth of most of the system is 150 feet making it a trimix cave. There are several access point such as Round Sink and Nexxus Sink as well as several other karst windows (Stratamax, Golfball, Briars, and Smokehouse) around the area (including a few on the golf course). There is an ongoing project to explore, line, and map the system. Several articles have been published by Advanced Diver Magazine concerning this project. They have a web article printed here.
